Today during an election campaign at Ratta Khera village in his Lambi assembly the Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal was injured in eye when protester threw a shoe on him.
Eyewitnesses told that Badal’s eye bled as his spectacles broken with the hit. CM Parkash Singh Badal was immediately escorted out of the venue.
The protester who threw the shoe was identified as Gurbachan Singh who is a relative of a Sikh radical leader.
Punjab goes to the polls on February 4 and SAD- BJP alliance is up against the AAP and Congress. Many locals are angry with the government because of the incidents that involves the desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib last year and the SAD- BJP government did nothing over this case.
SSP said that this incident took place while CM Badal was busy in a public meeting. A few days ago some of the people threw stones at deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in Kandhwala Hazir Khan village in his constituency. Due to this incident four Akali supporters were injured.
