At Attari Border, Punjab the inauguration of 120-foot-long and 80-foot-wide National Flag was hoisted on 360-foot tall flag post on Sunday. The flag post is situated near the retreat ceremony area on Punjab government land.
The project was completed by Amritsar Improvement Trust which is attended by Punjab local bodies minister Anil Joshi and other officials of BSF and BJP leaders. However the officials of district administration were not attended the ceremony due to poll code of conduct.
Floodlights are installed around flag post to make it visible at night. Since the time it is installed several tourists were seen clicking selfies while capturing flag their behind.
Joshi who considered it his dream project said that they have took special permission from the Election Commission for the inaugural ceremony “This is the right place to this project as thousands of people come here every day. This will inculcate a feeling of patriotism in their minds,” further he added.
Whereas the BSF inspector Mukul Goel, said “It is a matter of great honour that the Tricolour has been hoisted on the highest flag post here. We appreciate the effort of the Punjab government.”At the point of any objection against the project from Pakistan, he mentioned no reservations were received from the neighboring country. JS Oberoi the BSF DIG was also present at the ceremony.
