Twin border cities of Gurdaspur and Pathankot have been put on alert by Intelligence Bureau(IB) and Allied Agencies claiming that few Pakistan-trained militants had made their way direct into the territory of India through Bamial, dropping under the jurisdiction of Pathankot Police. It is the second such danger in the previous one month.Vivek Sheel Soni, SSP of Pathankot stated that his force is ready to face any problem that will happen. Rohit Chaudhary , ADGP (Law and Order) has arrived at district Gurdaspur to take stock of the situation.
Understanding the inputs, BSF (Border Security Force) redistributed a battalion consisting of 1,200 men in Pathankot.
The Whole Border area is covered and sanitized. We are leaving nought to chance. Asia’s largest security at Mamun Ammunition depot, the Air Station of Pathankot and Tibri Cantonment has been harden. BSF officer added that they are working along with the Army and Police.
The Police of Pathankot and Gurdaspur has been asked for bulletproof tractors and Mahindra Scorpio vehicles to necessary area near the border.

Security has been increased at Gurdaspur railway stations, bus stands and the national highway to Pathankot- said by The Gurdaspur SSP Bhupinderjit Singh Virk.
Virk added that they are in continuous touch with the BSF Officer and are regularly updated by the Army Authorities at Tibri Cantonment.
