The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) disband all its state units and has called for a reformation of the same. Sources said the resolution was taken at the gathering managed by Bhagwant Mann (state convener).
Opposition Leaders HS Phoolka and Faridkot MP Sadhu Singh also attended this assembly.
All party MLAs, office-bearers from all areas and State unit were also present.
Mann along with Aman Arora (state co-convener) had a assembly with office-bearers of all areas personally and transmitted to them the decision to disband all units.
The sources said most leaders were of view that the high command didn’t give independence to the state unit due to which the party tolerate a crushing overthrow in the state Assembly elections.
They said Mann tried to placate the leaders, advising them to forget the past and think about future. He also assured the party leaders that they would take all resolutions on their own.
As per the plan, the state unit will have a nine-layered structure with a state council at the head and village level units at the basis.
In between, there will be district units, MC ward units and Assembly constituency units .The election of the office-bearers will begin from Thursday when a series of gatherings with party volunteers of different areas will originate. Arora will lead the reforming exercise.
The party has decided to build a disciplinary council to keep a sentry on anti-party activities and act against those found ashamed.
Addressing the media, Mann announced that the disinformation being extend by the Congress, SAD and BJP would not influence AAP, and the party would come back with more strength. He said lakhs of participants were still connected with the party.
