In Punjab Police recruitment drive around thousands of Punjab youths done well and some of them cleared the physical tests but also a huge number of other states candidates cleared the physical tests.
For 7,416 posts of constable around 7.20 Lakh candidates applied from which around 20,000 are the other states candidates. Other states candidates pass percentage in the physical tests was more than the youngsters of the Punjab and also the dope test percentage was better than the state youngsters. The Punjab state youngsters who are doing hard work to clear the test are worried a lot about this because a huge number of youths of other states are also in need of these posts.
Punjab youths are scared that other states candidates may claim their rights and they would have to stay without the jobs. As per the notification of these posts Punjabi in class X is compulsory but this term is also fulfilled by the other states candidates.From different areas of Punjab candidates told that this is their right to get these posts and if their rights were taken away from them then they will have to take drugs.
ADGP Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota told that he did not know that most of the candidates are from other states and this recruitment was open for all state. He also assured the youngsters that preference will be given to the state candidates and he will also talk about this issue with the government and senior officials.
Captain Amarinder Singh also said that first priority will be given to the state youths and it was the mistake of the government because they didn’t mentioned in the notification that only domiciles of the state are applicable for these posts.
